As many of us think of self-care, we think automatically of all the things we want to do for ourselves, but they don’t. We remind ourselves that we need to workout or start healthy eating. We might also be thinking about going out with a friend to enjoy a cup of coffee. A urge to spend more time with God is expressed by some moms. If we really fantasise about self-care, we might even dream about enjoying a massage, a nap, or going to a weekend spa. But the fact is the challenge of moms to practise self-care. It’s not that they don’t want to; it’s just that there’s a misconception that you have to do something else first. I’m not going to preach to you why self-care should be practised, or give you the many advantages of daily self-care. You already know all these things. I do want to speak to you about a basic routine of self-care that you can do for five to ten minutes every day. Anyone can build five to ten minutes for themselves, no matter how busy.
Journaling is a way of dumping the brain, communicating with the mind, empowering yourself and calming the body. Journaling is simply a way of moving you through a pen, pencil, marker or pencil onto paper. Via journaling, here are several innovative ways to practise self-care.
Negative Feelings Release
Let it go on paper if you feel bottled up with rage, remorse, anxiety or sadness. Take 10 minutes to allow the feelings to flow. Don’t hold back; there’s no one going to see your diary. Emotions are transient only if they are published by you. However if you hold onto them, you will stay trapped in the adverse energy.
Spiritual and Clarity Renewal
In order to write a letter to God, use your book. Chat about what is going on in your life with Heaven. Ask Him for clarification on whatever topic causes you confusion. Ask God to take away your rage or fear, so that you no longer have to hold on to it. Speak to him just because he’s your best friend.
Practice Appreciation Gratitude
It’s definitely quick to dwell on all that’s left to do or all the mistakes you made as a mom today. Use your journal to remember anything for which you have to be grateful. Document every little moment throughout the day that touched your heart. Mind all of the smiles, the little things that you take for granted sometimes, and everything else that binds you to love.
Get the journal out and make a note of all the wonderful things that you’ve said and done today. Don’t be so harsh on yourself. When you have finished a load of laundry, write it down. That is an achievement. Instead of dwelling on your failures, remind yourself of all your strengths. Today you made someone laugh… good for you!
Expressing your imagination
To catch all your creative ideas, a notebook can be used. Since the ideas are always flowing, I keep an innovative idea notebook, but I don’t always have time to execute them. What other ways do you love creatively expressing yourself? Do you want to draw, compose poems, or build life-organizing systems? Spend a little time being imaginative.
Where something that is on your mind is written on the paper, you can do free flow journaling. You can also do directed journaling, though where you concentrate on answering one specific question aimed at learning more about yourself.
Your Body Relax
Coloring is an ideal way for the mind and body to relax. In order to doodle and reflect, use your notebook. Have colour fun. To show your mood, turn the page. Dream about something that you like or think about nothing at all. Just colour and relaxation.
To spend some time journaling, pick a time during your day or evening. If you’ve never attempted journaling before, give it a shot. What have you got to lose?
